Education Researchers March for Science
More than 100 researchers gathered the morning of Saturday, April 22, for a breakfast co-hosted by AERA, the American Sociological Association, and other scholarly societies, before heading to the National Mall to join thousands of other scientists for the March for Science.
Annual Meeting Opening Plenary to Address Challenges Facing Higher Education in a Diverse World

AERA Announces 2017 Award Winners in Education Research
AERA has announced the winners of its 2017 awards for excellence in education research. AERA will honor the recipients for their outstanding scholarship and service at the fifth annual Awards Luncheon, April 29, at the AERA Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
AERA Sixth Centennial Lecture Spotlights School Discipline in Boston
On April 12, AERA held its sixth, and final, Centennial Lecture and Discussion Forum in Boston, with Russell Skiba of Indiana University as the featured lecturer.
AERA Council Approves Continuation of National Lecture Series
At its February meeting, AERA Council approved an extension of the association’s national lecture series programming. With Council’s approval, AERA will hold an additional four public lectures and forums at locations around the country in 2017 and 2018.
Three Annual Meeting Professional Development Courses to Be Offered Live Online
Three courses from AERA’s rich and dynamic professional development and training program at the 2017 AERA Annual Meeting will be available via live-stream through the AERA Virtual Research Learning Center.
Inaugural Fellows Selected to the AERA-SRCD Early Career Fellowship in Early Childhood Education and Development
AERA and the Society for Research on Child Development SRCD at the beginning of April launched the AERA-SRCD Early Career Fellows in Early Childhood Education and Development.
