On October 2, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET, AERA will hold an informational webinar on the 2024–2025 Minority Dissertation Fellowship in Education Research. Register for the webinar here. The fellowship aims to support graduate students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in higher education.

The fellowship has an application deadline of December 9. It is open to students from groups including, but not limited to, African Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Asian Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, and Native Hawaiians or Pacific Islanders.

This prestigious program offers mentoring and financial support to help recipients develop their research skills and conduct studies in education-related fields. Participants will receive assistance in completing their dissertation and contributing to the field of education research.

The webinar will be led by Dr. George Wimberly, AERA Director of Professional Development and Diversity Officer. The webinar will address the fellowship program’s objectives, provide insights into the application process, and share important details about the competition. Attendees can register for the webinar through the AERA website. The session will be recorded and made available shortly after the webinar for wider viewing by those unable to attend.
