AERA has launched a campaign to double the amount of funding available to help graduate students with demonstrated need who wish to participate in the Annual Meeting. After two initial successful years, AERA staff and Council have committed to continuing the Annual Meeting Graduate Student Assistance Fund (AMGSAF) and is asking members, partners, and supporters to step in and help.

The goal is to raise at least $25,000 to match AERA’s commitment, extending the opportunity to even more graduate students in financial need. The association has pledged $25,000 from its operating budget to fund 50 awards per year at $500 per award. Achieving the goal of the current campaign would allow AERA to double the number of awards, and advance its aim to make the Annual Meeting accessible to a larger and more diverse group of emerging researchers.

“Graduate students represent the future of our field,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “Attending the Annual Meeting provides crucial professional development and networking opportunities, experiences essential to these scholars’ growth and success. Your support will directly impact their careers and, ultimately, the future of education research.”

Over the past two years, AMGSAF has supported students from more than 170 institutions worldwide, including minority-serving universities and international institutions. As the demand for support grows, so does the need for additional resources.

AERA encourages all supporters to contribute through its online donation system or during the 2025 membership renewal. Every dollar raised will go toward helping the next generation of education researchers thrive.
