May 2026

Following the transition to AERA’s new membership system last fall, some members who previously held division and special interest group (SIG) affiliations were not carried forward during the 2026 renewal process. AERA has identified affected members and will begin personalized outreach in the coming weeks.

In the new system (re:Members), division and SIG affiliations did not automatically carry over at renewal. Instead, members needed to actively re-select those affiliations during the renewal process, and some members may not have noticed that the additional step was required.

After reviewing 2025 and 2026 division and SIG rosters, AERA identified members whose prior affiliations were not renewed. Those members will receive a message identifying the affiliations affected and explaining how they may restore them.

Members who would like to review their current division and SIG affiliations may log into their AERA member profile at any time using the email address on file. Standard division and SIG dues apply to restored affiliations.

Questions may be directed to membership@aera.net.

Divisions and SIGs play a central role in AERA’s scholarly and professional community, connecting members through shared research interests, collaboration, and leadership opportunities. AERA appreciates members’ patience as it works to restore those connections.
