White House OSTP to Examine Improving Research Environments

On May 7, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) announced the creation of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Joint Committee on Improving Research Environments. The NSTC Committee on Science and Committee on Science and Technology Enterprise will helm the joint committee.

The joint committee will be examining the following issues:

  • Administrative burdens on federally funded research
  • Rigor and integrity in research
  • Safe, inclusive, and equitable research settings
  • Protecting American research assets

The co-chairs of the committee include OSTP director Kelvin Droegemeier, National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, and National Science Foundation Director France Córdova.
