On January 16, AERA and TESOL International will cohost the webinar “Research-Practice Partnerships with Schools and Communities: Collaborations for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners.” The free webinar will be held 3:00 to 5:00 pm Eastern Time.

The panelists on the webinar will discuss how they have been involved in research-practice partnerships with schools and communities and what they have learned through their experience. They will address the following questions:

  • How might research collaborations between schools, communities, and universities impact culturally and linguistically diverse students’ learning?
  • What is the role of faculty in maintaining and developing sustainable relationships?
  • What are the criteria for success in school-university or community-university partnerships?

The panelists are Megan Madigan Peercy (University of Maryland), Judy Sharkey (University of New Hampshire), and Carrie Symons (Michigan State University).
