The National Board for Education Sciences will hold a virtual open meeting on September 11, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. The meeting is open to members of the public, who are also invited to submit written comments ahead of time.

The Board will hear a presentation by Mark Schneider, director of the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), who will give an overview of agency priorities and provide updates on the status of the proposed National Center for Advanced Development in Education and the reauthorization of the Education Sciences Reform Act. Schneider’s remarks will be followed by discussion.

Those interested in attending the virtual meeting may email Andrea Miralia at andrea.miralia@ed.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on September 4 to receive a link and instructions on how to access the meeting via Microsoft Teams. Members of the public who wish to submit written comments may do so by emailing Miralia by the same time and date.

“We encourage members of the education research community to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the work and priorities of IES, and to share their informed perspectives,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine.
