Measurement & Research Methodology
Message from Division VP

September 2015

Kadriye Ercikan

I am very excited and enthusiastic about beginning my three-year term as Vice President. I became a member of AERA and Division D in 1987 and have been attending the Annual Meeting ever since. During the last 28 years, Division D has provided me with an intellectual home. It has offered me many opportunities to share my research and receive support and mentorship from members.

Division D focuses on educational measurement, psychometrics, and assessment; quantitative methods and statistical theory; qualitative, mixed and evaluation methods as applied to educational research. It is dedicated to promoting educational measurement and diverse methodologies targeted to creating knowledge for improving education. The interdisciplinary focus in the Division and the promotion of diverse methodologies is what attracted me to it and over the years, it has been one of the main outlets for my research that focused on a diverse set of methodologies and measurement.
