September 2016

On September 13, the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) launched a new What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) website. Established in 2002, the WWC reviews the existing research on different programs, products, practices, and policies in education. Its goal is to provide educators with the information they need to make evidence-based decisions.

Some of the new features on the WWC website include:

  • an enhanced Find What Works feature that allows educators and policymakers to find interventions that scientific evidence shows have had a positive impact on student outcomes,
  • an improved website navigation that allows visitors to quickly find what they are looking for, and
  • a Review of Individual Studies feature that lets users get in-depth information on thousands of studies that have been reviewed by the WWC and see if the research meets IES’s rigorous study standards.
