The Consortium of Social Science Associations (COSSA) will host its annual Colloquium on Social and Behavioral Science and Public Policy at the Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, D.C., November 4–5. The COSSA colloquium features speakers who are policy makers in federal agencies and Congress and social scientists.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Societal, Technological, and Scientific Changes.”

The meeting will feature a variety of sessions, including “America’s Political Institutions in Trouble,” “Social Science and the Press,” “Changes Regarding Race in America,” “Changes in Living Arrangements,” and “The Impact of Technology on Social Change.” The meeting will also include feature presentations by John H. Thompson, the new director of the Census Bureau.

AERA Executive Director Felice Levine, who serves on the Executive Board of COSSA, considers this colloquium a “don’t miss" event.

"If you are in D.C. or can readily travel, it should be on your calendar to connect with current issues being addressed and advanced by the social sciences, including the education research community,” Levine said.

Interested participants should register for the event on the COSSA website.
