AERA President Jerome Morris recently appointed new members to AERA’s standing and award committees. Standing committees support and guide Council on key education research issues and advise AERA on programs, initiatives, and activities. Award committees support the AERA Awards Program, which celebrates the best in education research, honoring scholars and changemakers whose work drives innovation and transforms classrooms, communities, and policy.
Standing committee members generally serve three years, while award committee members usually serve two years. Appointments are made annually by the AERA president in consultation with the executive director.
“The important work of volunteers on our standing and award committees supports the mission and objectives of the association,” said AERA Executive Director Tabbye Chavous. “President Morris and I sincerely appreciate the willingness of members to offer their time and expertise in service to AERA and the field of education research.”
