The National Assessment Governing Board (NAGB) is accepting nominations for a number of open positions, including one for a testing and measurement expert, through October 31. NAGB serves as the policymaking body for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), “the Nation’s Report Card,” for activities that include identifying subjects to be assessed, approving test questions, and making results relevant and useful for public audiences.

The open positions include:

  • Business representative
  • Two chief state school officers
  • Two curriculum specialists
  • General public representative
  • Local school superintendent
  • State school board member
  • Testing and measurement expert
  • Twelfth-grade teacher

The terms for members appointed for 2023 would begin on October 1, 2023. The education secretary is responsible for making appointments to NAGB.

Nominations are due October 31 and can be submitted through the NAGB website. Nominations require a personal statement, CV, and letter(s) of support.
