The AERA-ICPSR-NSF PEERS Data Hub is holding a no-fee webinar, “Pre-registering a Study and the Research Life Cycle,” on November 4, 1:00–2:00 p.m. ET. The webinar will broadcast live on Zoom. Those interested in attending can register here.

This webinar features three researchers: Pamela Davis-Kean (University of Michigan), Jessaca Spybrook (Western Michigan University), and Katharine Meyer (Brown University). It will be moderated by Amber Bryant (PEERS, ICPSR). The webinar will focus on the benefits of preregistering a research study and why researchers should consider it for their next project. It explores the research life cycle and explains the role of study preregistration in the cycle.

During this webinar, the researchers will:

  • Briefly describe the research life cycle and the idea behind study preregistration;
  • Explain the benefits of preregistering studies;
  • Share lessons learned from a user's experiences; and
  • Introduce the Registry of Efficacy and Effectiveness Studies.

Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.

The webinar is free and open to the public. It will be recorded and the recording will be sent to all registrants.

The PEERS Data Hub is joint effort of AERA and the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) that is NSF funded (Awards ECR 1937612 (AERA) and ECR 1937509 (ICPSR).
