Annual Meeting Registration, Housing, and New Microsite to Launch in Early December

Registration and housing for the 2019 Annual Meeting will open in early December. The meeting will be held Friday, April 5 – Tuesday, April 9, in Toronto, Canada.

 

AERA Grants Program Holds Fall Research Conference

On November 1–3, the AERA Grants Program welcomed education researchers and federal agency representatives to its Fall Research Conference.

 

AERA Participates in Public Forum on Federal Data Strategy

On November 8, the Bipartisan Policy Center and White House Office of Management and Budget jointly hosted a public forum, “Promising Practices for the Federal Government’s Data Strategy,” to provide the public an opportunity to comment on a draft set of practices of the Federal Data Strategy.

 

AERA Executive Director Addresses 2018 ERAS-APERA International Conference in Singapore

On November 13, AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine delivered a keynote address during the 2018 Educational Research Association of Singapore–Asia-Pacific Educational Research Association International Conference.

 

AERA Member Cynthia Coburn Appointed to National Academies' Committee on Advancing Science Communication Research and Practice

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recently announced the members of a new standing committee designed to build capacity for science communication research, strengthen connections between science communication research and practice, and expand networks of science communication practitioners and researchers.

COPAFS Names Cynthia Z. F. Clark as New Executive Director

The Council of Professional Associations on Federal Statistics, which advocates for the development and dissemination of high-quality federal statistics, has named Cynthia Z. F. Clark as executive director, effective December 3.

 

AERA Takes Action on Research Policy Areas

During November, AERA signed on to and submitted comments on important research and statistical policy issues that impact education researchers.
