AERA President Tyrone Howard and AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine have announced that the 2024 Annual Meeting will be dual-component, marking the third consecutive year that the association has held place-based and virtual components for attendees. The place-based component will be held in Philadelphia, PA, April 11-14, and the virtual component will be hosted on an online platform and mobile app April 25-26.

In making the decision, AERA leaders assessed the results of a designated survey of 2023 Annual Meeting virtual attendees, real-time observation of every virtual session this year, and participant reactions on social media.

“Both components of the Annual Meeting this year were overwhelmingly well-received, and we’re pleased to be able to offer a similar model for next year,” said Howard and Levine. “We will build on what we’ve learned to further expand access and enhance the attendee experience in 2024.”

The call for submissions for the 2024 Annual Meeting will open on May 31 and close on July 31.
