March 2025
Based on the success of e-lightening Ed-Talks at the 2024 AERA Annual Meeting, the 2025 Annual Meeting will again feature this component of the meeting at poster sessions. These rapid-fire talks are given at dedicated stage areas by authors drawn to making engaged presentations in the Exhibit Hall during their poster sessions. Presentations are a maximum of four minutes long followed by up to two minutes of Q&A.
Ed-Talk presenters are encouraged to register for one or both of two training sessions.
Nearly 250 e-Lightening Ed-Talks will feature selected poster authors presenting their work in the form of brief and engaging presentations. These talks will be held throughout the day on every day of the meeting in the Exhibit Hall. They will all be chaired by leading scholars.
The Ed-Talks bring cutting-edge research on a diverse range of education topics. They will touch on major issues in education equity, student learning, opportunities for disadvantaged students, and much more.
The e-Lightening Ed-Talks are designed to be an additional opportunity for presenters during their poster time slots. Following each talk, presenters will be available for questions at their assigned poster location in the Electronic Poster Hall.
“We are enthusiastic about continuing this special feature at the Annual Meeting,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “This innovative mode of presentation provides a wonderful opportunity for presenters to share their scholarship with even broader audiences at the conference.”
Presenters include selected authors with papers accepted in a poster session who have indicated an interest in giving brief e-Lightening Ed-Talks.
