At the 2023 Annual Meeting, AERA is offering four in-person Journal Talks sessions, where meeting attendees are encouraged to meet with AERA journal editors and editors from many other publishers.

AERA Journal Talks are informal sessions designed to facilitate journal editors' communication on a one-to-one basis with reviewers, authors, and potential contributors. Each registered journal is included in one in-person Journal Talks session in Chicago, and journals participating in a session are assigned to a specific time slot. There are no restrictions placed on the number of journal representatives who may occupy an assigned session. 

This year nearly 80 journals will participate, over the following sessions:

• Journal Talks 1 on Friday, April 14, 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. CT
• Journal Talks 2 on Friday, April 14, 9:50 to 11:20 a.m. CT
• Journal Talks 3 on Friday, April 14, 2:50 to 4:20 p.m. CT
• Journal Talks 4 on Saturday, April 15, 9:50 to 11:20 a.m. CT

All Journal Talks sessions will take place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, East Tower, Ballroom Level.

Please visit the online program to see the complete listing of journals and their specific Journal Talks session times. Reviewers, authors, and Annual Meeting attendees do not have to register for Journal Talks sessions; as Journal Talks are set up as roundtables, anyone wishing to attend can simply stop by to speak with journal representatives about their journals’ aims, scope, submission process, and other topics.

Journal Talks sessions will be held in Chicago at the in-person component of the 2023 Annual Meeting. These sessions will not be accessible virtually.
