The Research and Science Policy Forum at the 2023 AERA Annual Meeting will highlight important areas at the intersection of education research and science policy. Among the prominent speakers are Mark Schneider, director of the Institute for Education Sciences, and James L. Moore III, assistant director for the STEM Education Directorate (EDU) at the National Science Foundation (NSF).

This series of sessions provides an opportunity for meeting attendees to hear from representatives of federal research agencies, learn about emerging issues in education research policy, and engage in AERA initiatives that bring scientific knowledge and methods to bear.

“This series reflects and reinforces the crucial nexus between education research and education policy,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “Effective federal policy is reliant on rigorous data and scholarship and is best achieved with the commitment and involvement of education researchers.”
