March 2022
AERA President Na’ilah Suad Nasir’s presidential address and major lectures by distinguished education research scholars at the 2022 Annual Meeting promise to be engaging and thought-provoking.
In her address, “A Vision for the Future of Learning,” Nasir encourages the field to consider new ways of thinking about the goals and means of education and the systems education needs. In this talk, she will offer a definition of the kind of learning we need for the 21st century, consider how education systems need to be organized in order to create spaces for that kind of learning, and reflect on the role of research in supporting a new vision and evolution of research training and structures.
Nasir’s address will be held on Monday, April 25, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. PT in Ballroom 6B of the San Diego Convention Center. The address will be livestreamed for those attending virtually and available for on-demand viewing.
In addition to the Presidential Address, the 2022 Distinguished Lectures will be presented in the San Diego Convention Center, as well as livestreamed on the virtual platform.
