The AERA Nominating Committee seeks recommendations of candidates for AERA-wide offices. Each year, the committee advances a slate of nominations for president-elect and two member-at-large positions. Members are encouraged to recommend persons with experience appropriate to both posts. The nominees will run for office in the 2027 election.

The president-elect serves a one-year term in the elect position, then one year as president and one year as past president. The person elected for this position will be president during the 2029 Annual Meeting. Candidates for two member-at-large positions will also be running for election. Both will serve a three-year term on the AERA Council, commencing April 29, 2027, after the conclusion of the 2027 Annual Meeting. The candidate receiving the higher number of votes will also serve for three years on the AERA Executive Board.
