Three AERA journals are ranked in the top 20 of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), released in June. AERA’s journals are listed in the “Education and Educational Research” category, which now includes 267 peer-reviewed scholarly journals from around the world.

JCR ranked journals by their 2021 impact factor, which is the total number of 2021 citations of each journal’s 2019 and 2020 articles, divided by the journal’s total number of articles published during those two years.

For the fifth year in a row, Review of Educational Research (RER) is first in the rankings. RER’s impact factor this year, 13.551, was more than two points higher than the second-place journal. RER’s five-year impact factor is an impressive 20.558.

Also in the top 10 is Review of Research in Education (RRE), at No. 9 with an impact factor of 7.30.  Educational Researcher (ER) improved in the rankings at No. 11 with a 6.3886 impact factor.
