AERA is accepting nominations for the 2027 AERA Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to education research, public service, mentoring, scholarship, and research communication. Nominations are due by Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time and must be submitted electronically through the AERA APPLY portal.
“It is more important now than ever to recognize and celebrate excellence in education research,” said AERA Executive Director Tabbye M. Chavous. “We encourage members and nonmembers alike to nominate individuals whose scholarship has advanced the field and its impact.”

The AERA Awards Program celebrates the best in education research, honoring scholars and changemakers whose work drives innovation in research and transforms classrooms, communities, and policy. Spanning all career stages and disciplines, the awards recognize groundbreaking thinkers and trailblazers who push boundaries, expand our understanding of education, and inspire the next generation of scholars.

Recipients of the 2027 AERA Awards will be honored at the Awards Ceremony and Luncheon during the 2027 Annual Meeting, to be held April 14-18, 2027, in Toronto, Ontario.
