The AERA Graduate Student Council (GSC) Nominating Committee welcomes recommendations of well-qualified individuals as potential candidates to run for GSC office in the 2024 election. The GSC plans and coordinates activities that advance the professional interests of graduate students in the association, based on policies and procedures approved by AERA Council.

The offices open for the 2024 election are: 

  • Chair-Elect (three-year term: Chair-Elect 2024–2025; Chair 2025–2026; Past Chair 2026–2027)
  • Junior Newsletter Editor (two-year term: Junior Newsletter Editor 2024–2025; Senior Newsletter Editor 2025–2026)
  • Junior Campus Outreach Coordinator (two-year term: Junior Campus Outreach Coordinator 2024–2025; Senior Campus Outreach Coordinator 2025–2026)
  • Secretary/Historian (one-year term: 2024–2025)
  • Social Media and Website Editor (one-year term: 2024–2025)

Position descriptions are available here. Individuals may recommend themselves as candidates. Those elected will take office on April 15, after the conclusion of the place-based component of the 2024 Annual Meeting.

All recommendations must be received by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Nominees will be announced in December, and the election will launch in early January 2024.
