Two AERA Journals in Top 10 of This Year’s Impact Factor Rankings

Two AERA journals are ranked in the top 10 of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), released in June. AERA’s journals are listed in the “Education and Educational Research” category, which now includes 268 peer-reviewed scholarly journals from around the world.   

JCR ranked journals by their 2022 impact factor, which is the total number of 2022 citations of each journal’s 2020 and 2021 articles, divided by the journal’s total number of articles published during those two years.

Review of Educational Research (RER) is third in the rankings, with an impact factor of 11.2. RER’s five-year impact factor, 16.6, is the highest in the rankings. Also in the top 10 is Educational Researcher at No. 7, with an impact factor of 8.2.  

As for other AERA journals, Review of Research in Education (RRE) ranked 13th, American Educational Research Journal (AERJ) 63rd, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis (EEPA) 73rd, AERA Open 104th, and the Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics (JEBS) 131st.

JEBS also has rankings in the categories “Social Sciences, Mathematical Methods” (19th of 52) and “Psychology, Mathematical” (7th of 13).
