Thirteen AERA Fellows or AERA members are among the 19 exemplary scholars who have been elected to the National Academy of Education (NAEd). The academy announced the news on January 21.

The AERA Fellows and members are:

  • Steve Graham, Arizona State University
  • Adriana Kezar, University of Southern California
  • Stacey Lee, University of Wisconsin–Madison
  • Danny Bernard Martin, University of Illinois Chicago
  • Ronald Marx, University of Arizona
  • James L. Moore III, The Ohio State University
  • Judit Moschkovich, University of California, Santa Cruz
  • Carla O’Connor, University of Michigan
  • Nicole Patton-Terry, Florida State University
  • Guillermo Solano-Flores, Stanford University
  • Katharine Strunk, University of Pennsylvania

In the announcement, NAEd President Alfredo J. Artiles praised the new cohort: “We welcome this outstanding group of scholars and leaders to the National Academy of Education at a critical moment in the history of our nation—one that demands a renewed commitment to the generation and use of scientific evidence in informing the field’s knowledge base, as well as policies and practices of educational systems.”

Founded in 1965, NAEd consists of U.S. members and international associates who are elected on the basis of scholarship related to education. The academy undertakes research studies to address pressing educational issues and administers professional development fellowship programs to enhance the preparation of the next generation of education scholars.
