On March 10, AERA will hold a webinar on “Publishing Your Research in American Educational Research Journal (AERJ): A Guide for International Scholars.” During the event, members of AERJ’s editorial team will introduce the journal’s new focus on publishing research on globally pressing educational issues and will invite international scholars to submit their manuscripts. The webinar will run from 9:00 am to 10:30 am ET on March 10.

Registration for the webinar is open to the public and available at no cost.

Attendees will hear from AERJ’s editorial team, which includes Editor-in-Chief Motoko Akiba (Florida State University, USA), Managing Editor Xiaonan Jiang (Florida State University, USA), Co-Editor Thomas Luschei (Claremont Graduate University, USA), Associate Editor Dario Maldonado (Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia), and Associate Editor Ingrid Gogolin (Hamburg University, Germany).

The AERJ co-editors, who have expertise in comparative and international education research, will unpack the journal editing process and share tips and strategies for preparing a successful journal manuscript for submission to AERJ. Topics will include AERJ’s vision and editorial process, manuscript requirements for submission to AERJ, how to avoid a desk-reject decision, situating your research in a global context, and demystifying the publication process.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity for international scholars to learn directly from the editors about what they are looking for in submissions,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “We encourage established and emerging scholars from around the globe to attend and engage.”

The webinar will offer significant time for audience Q&A. ASL and captioning will be provided.
