April 2012

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced a grant program to enable the creation of new, large-scale data resources and relevant analytic techniques. The new program, Building Community and Capacity for Data-Intensive Research in the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences and in Education and Human Resources (BCC-SBE/EHR), seeks proposals by May 22.

The program seeks to help research communities develop visions, teams, and capabilities dedicated to creating next-generation data resources and relevant analytic techniques to advance fundamental research for the SBE and EHR sciences. According to the program announcement, proposals should outline activities that will have significant impacts across multiple fields by enabling new types of data-intensive research. Investigators should think broadly and create a vision that extends intellectually across multiple disciplines and that includes, but is not limited to, the SBE or EHR sciences.
