WASHINGTON, D.C., February 15 – The American Educational Research Association has announced that the 2016 volume of its peer-reviewed journal Review of Research in Education (RRE) is now available online at no cost. Celebrating AERA’s Centennial, the volume has an expanded size and includes 22 chapters that cover a vast terrain of education research topics.
 
The Centennial volume takes a “retrospective, prospective” approach on a diverse range of education research topics spanning the last 100 years. While using historical trends as foundations for their chapters, the authors also look ahead to the most challenging issues and promising directions for the next century.
 
The chapters are organized into four thematic sections: (1) Research Enterprise and the Doing of Education Research, (2) Contexts of Education, (3) Process of and Substance of Learning, and (4) Changing Attention to Diversity and Difference.
 
The volume was edited by Patricia A. Alexander (University of Maryland), Felice J. Levine (AERA), and William F. Tate (Washington University in St. Louis).
 
The print volume may be purchased by non-AERA members for $68. AERA members who did not subscribe to this edition of RRE may purchase the print edition for $20 ($10 for student members) by logging in to the AERA website.
