Media Invited to Register for 2026 Annual Meeting of Education Researchers

WHAT

The American Educational Research Association’s Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of education researchers in the world and a premier showcase for ground-breaking scholarship. The meeting spans a wide range of topics—from early education through higher education, from AI in education to educational equity—and features research that will help shape education practice and policy.

Members of the media are invited to register at no cost to attend the 2026 AERA Annual Meeting, April 8-12, in Los Angeles, for five days of cutting-edge research, ideas, and engagement.

WHEN AND WHERE

Wednesday, April 8, through Sunday, April 12, Los Angeles, California

The primary site is the Los Angeles Convention Center. The headquarter hotels are the JW Marriott LA Live, the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, and the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites, Los Angeles.

WHO

AERA is the largest national interdisciplinary research association devoted to the scientific study of education and learning. The Annual Meeting convenes thousands of AERA members and scholars from aligned disciplines, along with policymakers and practitioners. Attendees can choose from more than 2,500 sessions featuring high-quality, timely education research.

Credentialed journlists may register at no cost by completing the Press Registration Form. Once press registration is approved, AERA will send a confirmation email with a link for reporters who want to reserve housing in AERA's press block.

  • The AERA Presidential Address by AERA President Maisha T. Winn (Stanford University)
  • The AERA Distinguished Lecture by Bryan Brayboy (Northwestern University), “Re-memory, Genealogy, and Dreams for the Future"
  • The Wallace Foundation Distinguished Lecture by Bianca J. Baldridge (Harvard Graduate School of Education), "(Re)memory, Community-based Education, and ‘Youth Work’ as the Process of Futuring"

Additional highlights include Presidential Sessions, AERA Award Lectures, and the Research and Science Policy Series.
