Education Writers Association Invites AERA to Cohost 2013 National Seminar
November 2012
AERA is proud to partner with the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education to cohost the 66th National Seminar of the Education Writers Association on May 2–4, 2013. Entitled “Creativity Counts: Innovation in Education and the Media,” the seminar will take advantage of its location at Stanford University to explore approaches that differ from prevailing practice in both education and journalism.
Approximately 300 journalists, communications professionals, and scholars will participate in site visits to view unique learning models in action, as well as attending interactive workshops and other presentations. The event immediately follows the AERA Annual Meeting (to be held on April 27–May 1 in nearby San Francisco). Participants in the two events are invited to join in discussions about the dissemination of educational research. The EWA program will include opportunities for networking and relationship development.
“We are very pleased to continue our collaboration with EWA, and to join with Stanford to cohost this seminar,” said Felice J. Levine, AERA Executive Director. “AERA is committed to encouraging education research of the highest quality and to working with journalists on effective reporting of the research and its practical applications. This collaboration exemplifies that aspiration.”
