February 2022

Invited sessions; accepted symposia, paper, and roundtable sessions; and poster sessions scheduled to take place in San Diego at the 2022 Annual meeting have until March 8 to move sessions to the virtual platform if they need to migrate. This decision must be made at the session level by the group. The one exception is that authors of papers being presented in poster sessions can decide together with their coauthors.

The March 8 deadline gives AERA staff and Pathable, AERA’s Annual Meeting virtual platform vendor, enough time to implement changes that ensure sessions are fully and seamlessly transferred from on-site to virtual and can be fully supported during the conference.

To shift from a place-based to a virtual session, email choiceAM2022@aera.net with the session title and scheduled date and time. After a group decision is reached, only one person should advance a change for a session, and they should specify within the email their full name and preferred contact email address. If a session is not requesting a change, no action is required.

“We understand that a group-level decision can be challenging to make given uncertain and shifting COVID-related conditions,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “We want to be sure participants in sessions know they have the option to consider a shift to the platform if they prefer.”

We look forward to welcoming and seeing you at the 2022 AERA Annual Meeting. If you have questions, you can also email choiceAM2022@aera.net.
