Registration for 2024 AERA Annual Meeting Now Open—Countdown to Philadelphia Underway

Registration for the 2024 AERA Annual Meeting is now open. The conference, centered around the theme “Dismantling Racial Injustice and Constructing Educational Possibilities: A Call to Action,” will be held in Philadelphia, PA, April 11-14. The meeting program will be released on January 22.

Each year, the AERA Annual Meeting is the largest convening of education researchers in the world and a showcase for groundbreaking, innovative scholarship. With more than 2,500 sessions to choose from, the 2024 gathering will provide a dynamic experience with opportunities to learn from prominent scholars, discover the latest research, engage in stimulating conversations, and foster professional relationships.

“We are thrilled to welcome the education and education research communities to Philadelphia for four exciting days of learning, sharing, and inspiration in April,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “Driven by the leadership and vision of AERA President Tyrone Howard, the commitment of chairs at the division and SIG levels, and the hard work of hundreds of volunteer reviewers, the 2024 Annual Meeting promises to be a can’t-miss event.”

The registration process, which is fully integrated with the membership join/renew process, takes place entirely through My AERA, the entry point for AERA’s association management system on the AERA website. Individuals who have first signed up or renewed their AERA membership for 2024 receive a deep discount on registration fees.

During the registration process, individuals have the choice to select optional events, such as professional development courses, and to request accessibility and childcare services. At the completion of the registration process, the confirmation e-mail message will include a link to the AERA Housing Bureau for registrants to make hotel reservations.

In the interest of the health and safety of attendees, AERA Council has decided to continue to require all attendees to have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination and at least one booster, except for those individuals with a medically documented condition or a personal attestation of religious reasons. Mask wearing is not required. Mutual respect and health and safety remain priorities. AERA will use SafeAccess as the vendor responsible for confirming the vaccination status of registrants. SafeAccess will send an email to registrants to verify their vaccination status.

AERA has launched the 2024 Annual Meeting website in tandem with the opening of registration. The site provides presenters and other participants with important information on registration and housing, upcoming key dates, the AERA Annual Meeting policy on welcoming and inclusive conduct, the COVID vaccination policy, program highlights, and more.
