December 2022

Registration for the 2023 AERA Annual Meeting will open on January 10. The conference will be dual-component, with the place-based component to be held in Chicago, April 13–16, and the virtual component to be held on an online platform on May 4–5. The program will be available on January 20. The meeting theme is “Interrogating Consequential Education Research in Pursuit of Truth.”

“With notifications having gone out on November 10, we are excited to be in the midst of creating a rich and compelling annual meeting program that will engage and inspire attendees,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “Building on the successful dual-component 2022 Annual Meeting, we are working hard to provide attendees, regardless of how they attend, a world-class conference experience that offers intellectual engagement and the chance to reconnect with colleagues.”

Registration for the 2023 Annual Meeting will now take place entirely through AERA’s Content Management System (NOAH) on the AERA website, rather than through a separate registration company, as in past years.

AERA will launch the 2023 Annual Meeting website in tandem with registration opening. The site will provide presenters and other participants important information on registration and housing, upcoming key dates, the AERA annual meeting policy on welcoming and inclusive conduct, the COVID vaccination policy, program highlights, and more.

While the place-based and online components of the 2023 Annual Meeting will occur at separate times and in different settings, both will provide a dynamic experience with opportunities to learn from major speakers, discover the latest papers and research, join stimulating conversation, and develop and foster professional relationships.

Attendees for the place-based meeting in Chicago will automatically be registered for and able to attend the virtual component at no extra charge.

Those registered for the virtual meeting will be able to attend some virtual Presidential sessions, AERA-wide special sessions, division and Graduate Student Council sessions unique to the platform, networking opportunities, and a special closing event. Virtual attendees will also have access to major sessions from the place-based meeting in Chicago, also available in the online platform’s video library.

Information on hotel accommodations will be available when registration opens on January 10.
