August 2025

AERA President Maisha Winn recently appointed new members to AERA standing committees, which support and guide Council on key education research issues and advise AERA on programs, initiatives, and activities.

Standing committee terms are usually three years, typically with two members appointed each year by the president for open positions, with input from the AERA executive director. Award committee members serve two-year terms, with new appointments to those committees to be announced in the September issue of Highlights.

“The work of AERA’s committees is vital to supporting the mission and objectives of the association,” said AERA Executive Director Tabbye M. Chavous. “We appreciate the willingness of members to volunteer their time and expertise in this important service to AERA and the field of education research.”
