The AERA Graduate Student Council (GSC) Nominating Committee welcomes recommendations of well-qualified individuals as potential candidates to run for GSC office in the 2023 election. The GSC plans and coordinates activities that advance the professional interests of graduate students in the association, based on policies and procedures approved by the AERA Council.

The offices open for the 2023 election are: 

  • Chair-Elect (three-year term: Chair-Elect 2023–2024; Chair 2024–2025; Past Chair 2025–2026)
  • Junior Newsletter Editor (two-year term: Junior Newsletter Editor 2023–2024; Senior Newsletter Editor 2024–2025)
  • Junior Campus Outreach Coordinator (two-year term: Junior Campus Outreach Coordinator 2023–2024; Senior Campus Outreach Coordinator 2024–2025)
  • Secretary Historian (one-year term: 2023–2024)
  • Social Media and Website Editor (one-year term: 2023–2024)

Position descriptions are available here. All terms begin at the conclusion of the 2023 Annual Meeting. Individuals may recommend themselves as candidates.

All recommendations must be received by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Nominees will be announced in December, and the election will launch in early January 2023.
