Greetings CASE SIG!

The resilience and focused paradigm of CASE SIG continues! As we engross ourselves in all the fantastic scholarship at the 2024 AERA conference in Philadelphia, we are proud of the scholarship emanating from the SIG members and the valuable, meaningful, and necessary work that they are engaged. The conference sessions address issues of action change, deconstructing inequities, and the development of educational possibilities for the people and nations of Africa and the Caribbean. We undoubtedly occupy a unique and important space in the educational landscape. And we, in CASE SIG and our members, will continue to strive for promoting narratives, research, and voices which express our lived experiences.  AI thoroughly concur with the sentiment of one of our esteems past chairs that “The SIG continued to be a vibrant space for support, affirmation, and encouragement to persevere and to be productive.”

Our members’ participation in the SIG’s activities is crucial to our continued existence and vibrance. We would like to encourage current members to continue to support the SIG by your presence, membership, and input; and we also ask for our members to spread the word of our SIG while adamantly encouraging their colleagues to join the SIG. We need to add to the burgeoning necessity to have more voices, counternarratives, research, and perspectives of African and Caribbean peoples.
It has been an education upon itself, but more so it is a privilege to serve this amazing entity with a profound executive team. I look forward to connecting with you electronically and at the conference in 2025.
