Thank you for taking the time to explore the website for the Classroom Assessment SIG. Our theme for this year is “Better Together”! As I discussed in my remarks at the annual business meeting, one fundamental belief I hold and embed in all my professional work is that “none of us is as smart as all of us”. There is no work I’ve ever done where it has not been improved by working with others. It will be my goal as Classroom Assessment SIG Chair this year to set up some additional structures where classroom assessment researchers, scholars, and practitioners can connect and collaborate in ways that are mutually beneficial. The SIG also supports other types of collaboration and support for classroom assessment professionals beyond hosting presentations and discussions at the AERA annual meeting. We provide programming and resources year-round to scholars and practitioners. A couple of our popular initiatives are our podcast series and a “Things We’ve Been Reading” feature in our newsletter. You will find these resources by clicking on News & Announcements in the left-hand menu of the site. The SIG also provides service opportunities for AERA members at all levels of experience. I hope you will consider joining the SIG, submitting a proposal for the annual meeting, and joining our community!
