The World Education Research Association (WERA) seeks submissions for its 2016 Focal Meeting. The deadline has been extended to September 22, 2015. The meeting will be held as an integral part of the 2016 AERA Annual Meeting on April 8–12, 2016, in Washington, D.C.

The WERA Focal Meetings consist of paper and symposium sessions on topics of worldwide scope and significance. As set forth in the Call for Submissions, the meetings feature research that spans more than one country or is comparative, cross-cultural, international, or transnational in conceptualization, scope, or design. Paper submissions need to meet these criteria; symposium submissions may include papers about single sites or countries as long as the symposium as a whole includes different countries and its aims are anchored in worldwide or global issues.

AERA, a founding member of WERA, is pleased to have been selected to host the 2016 Focal Meeting as part of AERA’s Centennial celebration. The 2016 Focal Meeting will be the seventh for WERA—previous meetings were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Sydney, Australia; Guanajuato, Mexico; and Edinburgh, Scotland. The 2015 Focal Meeting will be held in Budapest, Hungary, in September.

WERA is an association of major national, regional, and international specialty education research associations dedicated to advancing education research as a scientific and scholarly field. It also offers individual memberships. For further information, please visit the WERA website.
