The 2019 AERA election opened on February 26, with all voting AERA members receiving an e-ballot notification message from Intelliscan, Inc., that included a hyperlink to their personalized ballot. Read more

On April 6—the second day of the AERA Annual Meeting—a National Science Foundation–funded workshop will address the practices, problems, and promise of sharing human participants’ research data ethically and responsibly. Read more
AERA to Hold Annual Meeting Workshop on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion — Deadline for Applications: March 6
With the generous support of the William T. Grant Foundation and the Spencer Foundation, AERA will hold a workshop titled Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education Research on April 4–5, in Toronto, Canada, prior to the start of the 2019 Annual Meeting. Read more

Final FY 2019 Appropriations Signed Into Law; Work Begins on FY 2020 Budget Cycle
President Donald Trump signed a law that finalized appropriations for FY 2019 hours before the government was set to shut down on February 15. Read more

IES Funds Three National Research and Development Centers
On February 6, the Institute of Education Sciences announced that it has awarded $25 million in grant funding to the University of Missouri, Harvard University, and the University of California, Irvine, to establish three national research and development centers focused on improving rural education and secondary student writing.
