GET INVOLVED!

There are lots of ways that you can be involved in SIG IT:

Participate in our Conferences!

  • Submit a Conference Proposal: AERA and all SIG Proposals are Due in July.
  • Plan to submit a paper for one of our three paper competitions.

Volunteer!

  • Volunteer to be a Chair or Discussant at the conference: (This can be done when you submit your papers to the SIG. Follow the same link and volunteer to be a chair.)
  • Volunteer to be a conference proposal reviewer: This can be done using the online conference submission system.  Keep a look out for an email from AERA inviting reviewers to volunteer, usually in the spring.
  • Serve as a SIG Officer - Prepare to run for a SIG Office by submitting a nomination for a position. We accept nominations starting in late September or early October and due by the end of October.

Submit information to our SIG:

  • We have a SIG listserv, SIG social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, and we have a spring and fall newsletter.
  • Please contact Regina Kaplan-Rakowski regina.kaplanrakowski@unt.edu, our current SIG-IT Communications Officer, if there are announcements you would like to share.

All of these opportunities look good on a vita and can be great mentoring opportunities for graduate students in SIG IT as well.  We look forward to your participation.
