Access to the Latest Research and Developments in the Field

  • New As of January 2022, AERA will provide all members with free electronic access to its entire suite of journals.  In addition, AERA Open is a peer-reviewed open access journal.  Mailed journals can be obtained at the rate of $20 per journal per year ($10 for students). Members residing outside of U.S. pay an additional postage fee of $10 per journal.
  • JPASS available at a special discounted rate for members (Once a member, Login, go to My AERA, and see announcement on right hand side of page, “Purchase a JSTOR Subscription.
  • Member discounts on all AERA books and from other publishers.
  • AERA Online Paper Repository, an archival record of scientific presentations from 2010 forward of AERA Annual Meetings.

Networking Opportunities – Connect with the AERA Community

  • Connect with scholars and students through AERA’s 12 Divisions and over 150 Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
  • Members receive one complimentary division membership.  
  • Divisions and SIGs offer a wide range of activities including mentoring programs, webinars, networking at the Annual Meeting, newsletters, and listserv notifications about relevant conferences and opportunities, new scholarly publications, among other possible offerings.
  • Members may register for an expansive Annual Meeting at member discounted rates. The meeting provides a forum for researchers to explore and discuss the latest research. Held each spring and drawing up to 15,000 attendees, the meeting includes more than 2,400 per-reviewed sessions on a broad spectrum of topics.
  • Graduate students connect with the Graduate Student Council, the  body within AERA charged with the task to advocate for graduate students and support them for the next stages in their career. All graduate students are part of the GSC listserv and have the opportunity to take advantage of GSC programming throughout the year.
