Message from the SIG Chair

Welcome to the Professors of Educational Research SIG

Thank you for visiting our SIG website. As the 2023-2024 SIG Chair, I'm excited to welcome you into our community and to share some focus initiatives that our leadership team is working on for this year:

  1. SIG name change - following the work of our past SIG leadership we plan to continue the process to change the name of our SIG to Teaching and Learning Educational Research, based on a vote from 2021. More to come as we work through the process on this.
  2. Increasing graduate student involvement and lowering the student membership fee to $5.
  3. Invited panel and interactive sessions for the 2024 Annual Meeting.
  4. Exploring possibilities for an edited volume concerning teaching educational research.
  5. Increasing communication with members.

These initiatives are exciting and extend the work of our past leadership teams. We welcome your ideas and involvement as we work to sustain the SIG.

Please plan to submit your work to our SIG for consideration for the 2024 AERA Annual Meeting. We are interested in a variety of proposals concerning teaching and learning of educational research. Welcome to our community!
