The TLRM SIG officers are excited to welcome you into our community and to share some initiatives that our leadership team has completed recently as well as ongoing initiatives for this year:

1. SIG name change - following the work of past SIG leadership, we successfully completed the process to change the name of our SIG to Teaching and Learning Educational Research in February 2024.
2. Increasing graduate student involvement after lowering the student membership fee to $5 in 2023.
3. High-quality program and sessions for the AERA Annual Meetings by encouraging and supporting members to submit proposals.
4. Updating the SIG's Outstanding Paper Award -- through the work on an ad hoc committee and input from SIG members, the Outstanding Paper Award details were updated and approved by AERA in June 2026.
5. Exploring possibilities for an edited volume concerning teaching educational research.
6. Enhancing connections with journals and publishers interested in the teaching and learning of research methods.
7. Increasing communication with members and opportunities for members to interact with each other.
