Peace Education Special Interest Group Call for Presentations
The deadline for submissions for the 2022 AERA Annual Meeting is quickly approaching! We encourage you to complete your paper and session submissions as soon as possible. The meeting will be held in person in San Diego, CA, Friday, April 22–Monday, April 25.
We hope that the 2022 Annual Meeting—“Cultivating Equitable Education Systems for the 21st Century”—is a must-attend on your calendar. We are thrilled that our return to the in-person Annual Meeting is in such a beautiful and culturally diverse city that will provide prime opportunities to connect and engage with colleagues new and old. The meeting will be a chance to present your work on the largest stage in the world for education researchers and to stimulate your thinking and scholarship.
We are seeking wide participation across the field of education research and across aligned fields and disciplines. Submissions to a division, special interest group (SIG), or committee do not need to be focused on the meeting theme.
If you have not already done so, log in now to either start the process of advancing a paper or session submission or finalize your work. After you log in, click “My AERA” at the top of the page. On the “My AERA” page, scroll down to the 2022 Annual Meeting and click “Online Program Portal.” For further information on submissions, please review the Call for Submissions.

As such, we are looking to receive proposals from a broad range of presenters from across the USA and around the world on topics typically associated with peace education (Kester, 2008):
Due to the heightened consciousness born of recent events, we are especially encouraging peace education submissions related to:
Do not forget to select our SIG when submitting your proposals on peace education related topics! You may also contact me with questions about submitting proposals to our SIG at sharifms@jmu.edu or at aerapeace.education@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!
