Who We Are
Message from SIG Chair
SIG Chair
August 2024
Welcome to our Critical Peace Education Special Interest Group!
My name is Sandra Candel, and I will be serving as chair for the 2024-2025 academic year. As we embark on this important journey together, I want to express how vital your participation is in shaping our collective understanding and efforts toward building a more just and peaceful world.
Our SIG is dedicated to fostering a global forum where scholars can engage with pressing issues and explore innovative approaches to peacekeeping, peace-making, peace-building, and peace education; therefore, our group is a space for rigorous dialogue, mutual learning, and innovative thinking. I look forward to the insights and collaborations that will emerge from our diverse experiences and perspectives.
Your varied perspectives and experiences are invaluable, and I encourage each of you to contribute your unique insights, challenge norms, and collaborate toward meaningful change.
Thank you for joining us in this shared commitment to advancing peace education and creating a better, more just world.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
En paz y solidaridad,
Sandra Candel
