Dear OT-SIG members and prospective members,
Welcome to a home for your ideas, research, teaching, and scholarship!
At the AERA Organizational Theory SIG, we endeavor to create a community of graduate students, faculty members, researchers, and education advocates who use frameworks and concepts from organizational theory to inform how we research and improve schools and education. If you know a lot about org theory, this is a place for you to share your expertise and get ideas from others! If you don't know a lot about org theory, this is also a place for you to learn from peers and share your ideas!
OT SIG has a lot of exciting activities throughout the year like (1) a workshop to support writing conference submissions, (2) a meeting for graduate students who will be on the job market, (3) a panel on how org theory can inform us during challenging times, and (4) online professional development events. Also, we usually have a great lineup of sessions and a smashing party during the AERA Annual Meeting!
So, we hope you consider being a member, or continuing to be a member! It only costs $10, but you'll get perks like all these events and drinks and food during our party at AERA! ;)
More importantly, we want to foster an energetic and intellectually nutritious community composed of people from various perspectives and backgrounds---all unified by a desire to enrich our analysis and learning through creative theories about organizations. We especially want to reach out to racial-ethnic minorities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and international scholars as org theory is enriched when we study the wide diversity of contexts, experiences, and organizations!
We hope you find a home with us!
Yours,
Eos
