SIG Chair

Thank you for visiting the Supervision and Instructional Leadership SIG!

Our SIG is a diverse group of scholars and practitioners who are focused on merging the best of theory and practice to ensure feedback about instruction leads to better outcomes for students and more inclusive instructional practices in PK-12 school systems.  We strongly believe that feedback can and should be used in formative ways to inform pedagogy and ensure that educators deeply question how instruction allows students to see themselves in the curriculum and to use what they learn to make their world more equitable.  We hope you find interest in this work and add to how theories and practices about supervision and instructional leadership can influence outcomes for the ever-diversifying US student population schools are intended to serve.

As a SIG, we welcome scholars, graduate students, and practitioners to present in professional forums and contribute to supervision and instructional leadership literature.  If you find a connection with your work and our SIG, please consider submitting a proposal, volunteer to be a chair or discussant, or run for one of our SIG officer positions.  We also encourage members of the SIG to submit to the Journal of Educational Supervision, an outlet that utilizes a rigorous peer review system for articles related to the field of supervision.

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago in 2023!
