Graduate Student Opportunity
Calling Graduate Students! We are working to create opportunities for mentoring and connecting within the SIG. To that end, we would like to invite graduate students who are currently serving as reviewers for the 2027 conference and those who are interested in doing so in the future to join the ALAE SIG officers for a conversation about reviewing procedures and expectations.
Please join us on Tuesday, 8/18, at 1pm.
https://iu.zoom.us/j/82475172668
After introductions, we will tackle grad student questions on reviewing and talk more about how graduate students benefit from reviewing for the SIG in their graduate work and proposals. Come tell us how the SIG can support you.
Please RSVP to pickard@iu.edu to let us know if you'll be joining.
We look forward to meeting you and answering your questions!
Proliteracy Special Issue - Message from Liz Hi ALAE SIGers, Please see a call for a special issue in the ProLiteracy Adult Literacy Education Journal. This journal publishes many types of articles (e.g., research, viewpoints, digests on important research topics) and the focus for this special issue is on technology-based tools along with the broader challenges of teaching adults with academic difficulties, including real-world program contexts, the range of learner needs variability, and the constraints of doing research in this area. First submissions are due Feb 15, 2027 (see timeline for earlier optional deadlines for feedback). Thanks, and hope you're having a great summer! Liz
