Georgia State University and Georgetown University are hosting a PIAAC and Adult Education Conference and Workshop at Georgetown University on May 8th and 9th, 2025. The conference will feature speakers from several different agencies and organizations that have worked with PIAAC and other large-scaled educational assessments (including from the National Center for Education Statistics, American Institutes of Research, Educational Testing Services, IES, and OECD).

The call for poster proposals is now open through April 20 (see this link). Submissions for posters can be related to large-scale assessments, data science, as well as adult education broadly.

The workshop will introduce how to analyze log file (process) data from large-scale assessments.

Conference and workshop registration are free and meals will be provided during the event.

Also, the Adult Literacy Research Center at Georgia State University will host a conference on October 20, 2025. This conference focuses on understanding the challenges and opportunities for adults with low literacy skills, and is for undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, community members and practitioners. Click here for more details.

The purpose of the conference is to highlight research in the many areas of adult literacy including reading and writing, numeracy, cognition, health, financial, family, workplace and digital. Our research focus is inclusive of both applied and basic research projects, and we look forward to accepting abstracts from many different disciplines.

We hope many of you will submit an abstract here.  Abstracts are due April 30, 2025.
