AERA is pleased to offer childcare services at the 2023 AERA Annual Meeting in Chicago. In partnership with KiddieCorp, AERA will be offering subsidized rates to meeting registrants. To ensure that the onsite Childcare Center is properly staffed and to facilitate planning of games and other activities at age-appropriate levels for the children, advance registration is requested.
Childcare is provided for children between the ages of 6 months and 13 years old. The Childcare Center’s experienced staff will include an on-site supervisor. KiddieCorp is licensed, bonded, and insured. Snacks and beverages along with age-appropriate activities will be provided. Ratios of staff to children are 1 to 2 for 6 months through 11 months old, 1 to 3 for 1 through 2 years old, 1 to 5 for 3 through 5 years old, and 1 to 7 for 6 through 13 years old. To keep both adults and children healthy and safe, COVID-19 protocols with be implemented. The protocols include the use of temperature screening, hand sanitizer, disinfectant for surfaces and toys, and gloves worn to serve food. We will continue to monitor state and CDC websites to stay up to date on best practices. Proof of COVID vaccination will be required for children. AERA follows the CDC guidelines with respect to vaccination of infants.
The fee for this service is $15 per hour per child. This is a discounted rate as AERA subsidizes 45% of the total cost of offering this service to attendees. Childcare Center Hours
Those interested in this service are strongly encouraged to register in advance to ensure that staff and space are planned appropriately. Although every effort will be made to accommodate on-site requests, it is best to contact KiddieCorp directly.
